He's always hated Christmas; it's the most depressing time of the year.
Mercy, also known as Mercy Now, is a program Joe Frank produced as part of the series The Other Side. It was originally broadcast on January 16, 2000.
Synopsis
A failed screenwriter sees his lover Margo then goes to their cottage at Big Sur with his wife, Ann, for New Year's of 1999/2000, is in a bad mood the whole time, watches a sword & sandal movie instead of the celebrations his wife wants to watch, stuffs himself at dinner, has a disagreement with his son, who visits while passing through.
35: Joe sees a beautiful young woman on the beach, then discovers she's a man.[1]
42: Joe recommends not-complaining.[2]
48:20: A woman recalls the boy she fell in love with in school at age 12.[3]
54:30: Joe says that if we think hard enough we may create meaning, understand underlying hidden meaning, encoded messages.
About a man who is depressed around Christmas 1999, his wife Ann and his mistress Margo. Narrator at the beach, dreaming. Woman talks about her taste in men, being a girl.
